The Buffalo SabresThe team has advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals two times, losing to the Philadelphia Flyers in 1975 and to the Dallas Stars in1999. The best known line in team history is The French Connection which consisted of Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin and René Robert. All three players have had their sweater numbers (11, 7 and 14 respectively) retired and a statue erected in their honor was erected at First Niagara Center in 2012. Tim Horton (2), Pat LaFontaine (16), and Danny Gare (18) have also had their jersey numbers retired.

Since the 2008 NFL season the Bills have played one regular season home game per season in Toronto as part of the Bills Toronto Series.[1] The Bills conduct summer training camp at St. John Fisher College inPittsford, New York, an eastern suburb of Rochester.[2] In January 2013, Doug Marrone agreed to become the next head coach of the Bills.[3] The Bills currently have the longest playoff drought in the NFL, having not appeared since 1999, and the longest active streak of losing seasons, having not finished .500 or better since 2004. |
